To achieve this, Turner follows a growth strategy, both autonomously and through participations, aimed at expanding its service portfolio into new markets and areas of expertise. As part of this strategy, Turner has recently acquired a majority stake in Birch, a research and consultancy firm. With this step, Turner enhances its service offering and strengthens its position in strategy execution and data intelligence.
Enhancing Data-Driven Strategy Execution
Birch specializes in data-driven strategy formulation, research, data intelligence, performance insights (dashboarding), chain and sector innovation, and supports public-private partnerships and campus development. For example, Birch plays a significant role in the ambitious National Reinforcement Plan ‘Beethoven’ in Zuid-Holland, which focuses on attracting talent to the microchip sector and safeguarding ASML’s presence in the Netherlands.[1]
Birch brings vital capabilities that Turner aims to strengthen, such as operating in networks and ecosystems. This enables Birch to deliver tangible and measurable chain innovations in public-private partnerships involving government, industry, and knowledge institutions, driving societal impact.
