Dutch AI Coalition Receives Investment from the National Growth Fund
The Dutch AI Coalition (NL AIC), the public-private partnership focused on artificial intelligence in which Turner participates, is receiving an investment from the National Growth Fund. NL AIC is receiving 276 million euros for AiNed, one of the ten projects to receive funding in the first investment round. “A tremendous boost,” said Jeroen Visscher of Turner.
Dutch AI Coalition Receives Investment from the National Growth Fund
The Dutch AI Coalition (NL AIC), the public-private partnership focused on artificial intelligence in which Turner participates, is receiving an investment from the National Growth Fund. The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced this on Friday, April 9. Through the National Growth Fund, the government will invest 20 billion euros over the next five years in projects that drive long-term economic growth. AiNed, a program of the NL AIC, is one of ten projects whose investment application was approved in the first round and will receive an investment of 276 million euros from the National Growth Fund. “A tremendous boost,” said Turner’s managing partner Jeroen Visser.
AI Initiatives in Education
Tessa Rombouts-van Puijenbroek, who is also involved in the working group on behalf of Turner: “In the working group, we’re now turning ideas from faculty, students, Education, research, the business community, and the government into concrete plans. In our Portfolio, we focus on identifying existing initiatives as well as formulating and launching new ones. For example, we recently formulated ten new pilot projects for the application of AI in education: ranging from personalized learning to supporting teachers. How cool would it be if these projects could move forward, thanks in part to this support?”
Incentives for Startups and Scale-ups
Frits Korthals Altes, who is involved in the Startups & Scale-ups Working Group through Turner, explains: “This is great news for startups, too. They have an enormous amount of creativity and talent. Through the AiNed program, innovative ideas from companies, research institutions, and government agencies “find their way into practical applications more quickly. This allows startups and scale-ups to grow faster and more effectively.”

AiNed is a broad investment program that aims to harness the potential of artificial intelligence for the Dutch economy and society. It consists of projects focused on attracting and retaining AI talent, training students and employees, and accelerating the development and application of AI.
