The Right Healthcare in the Right Place
Regional Leadership
"The Right Healthcare in the Right Place"—it’s easier said than done. The patient’s journey often involves navigating many barriers. Yet we know that to provide optimal healthcare, we must break down those barriers. Peter de Bruin sees a regional approach as the best way to succeed. Why?
Regional Leadership
We’ve known this for a while. A new way of thinking and working is needed to keep healthcare accessible, high-quality, and affordable in the long term. The Right Care in the Right Place (JZOJP ) is a movement we’d like to see accelerate. It improves the quality and reduces the costs of healthcare by preventing, shifting, and replacing it throughout the entire healthcare chain. JZOJP leverages Digital Innovations that free up time for healthcare professionals and improve patients’ lives. What administrator, health insurer, or healthcare provider could possibly object to that?
Yet in practice, things don’t always go as planned. Although every healthcare provider has the patient’s best interests at heart, the patient’s journey still involves navigating numerous bureaucratic hurdles and barriers. There are quite a few organizational, cultural, financial, and legal obstacles to overcome before the Right Healthcare ends up in the Right Place. We are convinced that the solution lies in the region.
Why in this region?
Regional partnerships, in particular, have the potential to make JZOJP a reality. They are large enough to harness all the synergies. Small enough to oversee and involve all relevant parties (primary healthcare, hospitals, nursing homes, etc.) in the healthcare continuum. With a regional and programmatic approach, it is possible to achieve rapid improvements with the involvement of all relevant parties. Whether the objective is small or big.
Before you begin discussions with potential regional partners, your institution needs to have a very clear understanding of “what you’re worth.” Prepare that well. W What do you have to offer? And what are you looking for in a regional partner? The more specific, the better. That It prevents lengthy exploratory processes, in which trust and a willingness to collaborate may develop between the parties involved, but which ultimately get bogged down in practical objections—or in resistance from healthcare professionals.

Leadership is needed
At JZOJP, the way we achieve something says everything about what we achieve. It starts with a focused and well-defined program—one that’s Multidisciplinary, brings all stakeholders to the table, and has a clear scope and objective. But collaboration without trust won’t break down the barriers in the chain. That’s why leadership is needed. Coordination in the region.
The essence of it all lies in a single question: What is best for the region? Repeat that question, over and over again. Leadership is about asking that same question again and again. “What is good for the region” is both the guiding principle for making the right choices and for our approach to work and how we arrive at those choices. By focusing on this overarching question, we can transcend individual interests and beliefs and build trust to arrive at a new way of working. The answer to the question “What is good for the region?” says something both about the goal (a single vision) and about the way to achieve it (trust, unity, etc.).
Regional governance. It starts with leadership: stakeholders who can see beyond their own interests and take a broader view. Without leadership, there is no JZOJP. Or rather: without JZOJP, there is no leadership.
We’re happy to work with you through every stage of exploration, development, and implementation. The solution lies within the region.
