Turner Skating Team in the Spotlight at the "Vier van Noord-Holland" and in National Media
Last week, the Turner Speed Skating Team competed in the ” Four of North Holland.” Four days, four races at four different ice rinks:
Thursday, November 20 – Amsterdam
Friday, November 21 – Haarlem
Saturday, November 22 – Alkmaar
Sunday, November 23 – Hoorn
All matches were broadcast live by NOS and schaatsen.nl/live.
During this week of races, the team competed on all four courses. Strong teamwork led to an exceptionally good result: Manon Gremmen finished in second place in Hoorn.
This season, the team consists of: Eline Cox, Manon Gremmen, Judith Krabbenborg, Iza Stekelenburg, and Janet Beers. They combine elite sports with careers in the (bio)medical sector, demonstrating that elite sports and professional careers can reinforce one another. The coaching staff and support team consists of Bouke Gerritsma, Sharon Hendriks, Floor Besteman, and Willem van der Steen.
The team’s visibility isn’t limited to the ice. The Turner Speed Skating Team was featured in a full-page spread in the daily newspaper Trouw, with an article about the team, their athletic ambitions, and their unique combination of elite sports and (bio)medical careers.
